The prosecution counsel, ASP Michael Iorundu earlier informed the court that the plaintiff, Salamatu Isah reported the matter at the ‘A’ Division Police Station, Makurdi on Oct. 4, 2020.

Avia ordered the police to return the case file to the Benue Director of Public Prosecutions for legal guidance.

The magistrate adjourned the matter until Nov. 20, for further mention

The victim’s mother, sent her daughter on an errand on Oct 4, but on her way, Usman dragged her into his room and defiled her.

The prosecution counsel stated that investigation into the matter was still ongoing and requested for an adjournment.
