Democracy remains best form of government-Senator Wamakko

Rmtimesng—Democracy is still the best form of government, despite the few odds, Senator representing Sokoto North district, Aliyu Wamakko has said.

He urged Nigerians to have renewed faith in the nation’s democracy, adding “nobody can take it to greater heights, but only us.”
Commenting on the 21st Anniversary of the nation’s return to democracy, he noted that Nigeria’s budding democracy had fared fairly.
The Senator added   that democracy in the country was becoming formidably entrenched in Nigeria. 
“All of us as citizens and residents must continue to be patriotic and religiously committed to the Nigerian project,” he enjoined.
 Wamakko who is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, said: “We are in it collectively as the country belongs to all of us and the task of ensuring its even socioeconomic and political growth, as well as development solely, rests on us.”
The immediate past governor of Sokoto prayed that the country would soon overcome the security challenges bedevilling it.
