No fewer than six alleged hoodlums, who allegedly took part in the looting and arson that occurred in the aftermath of #EndSARS protests in Ondo State have been arrested by the Security Agency codenamed Operation Amotekun, on Monday.
The corps disclosed that the suspects were arrested in various axis of the state. It gave the names of some of the arrested persons as Femi Ibine, Oyewole Olayeye, Omotubora Iyanuoluwa and Olamiju Sunday.
The commandant of the security agency in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, stated that the suspects were arrested with exhibits linking them with the looting, arson and attacks that happened in the state. The commandant listed items recovered from the suspects to include police cardigan, police boots, motorcycles, and rifle.
“The items recovered from the suspects suggested that they (suspects) participated in the burning of police stations in the state.” He said. Adeleye said the suspects, would be handed over to the relevant security agency for further investigation and prosecution, adding that efforts were ongoing to arrest other looters and arsonists in the state.
