The National Youth Service Corps has warned corps members against engaging in vices like money rituals, Internet fraud, prostitution and drugs.
The Director, NYSC South-West Area Office, Mr Emmanuel Attah, who went round the NYSC orientation camps in the South-West region to monitor activities and compliance with COVID-19 protocols, gave the warning while addressing corps members during the tour.
Attah said the corps members had been equipped with knowledge and skills they could use to turnaround the situation of the country, urging them to make the country proud of them.
The NYSC director said corps members should not allow those who he described as unpatriotic Nigerians to use them against the country.
He said, “Among you seated here today are presidents, governors, senators, ministers, professors, great businessmen and women and the like. We have to use our God-given talents to solve our problems by ourselves.
“You all should shun unauthorised journeys. We have realised that 90 per cent of deaths recorded among corps members is usually caused by road accidents.”
“The male corps members especially should shun every form of get-rich-quick syndrome. Shun money rituals and Internet fraud. You should be content with whatever you have and wait for God’s appointed time. Work and be creative, create your own jobs if paid jobs are not coming and be productively engaged.”
