Senate Committee chair  urges collective efforts to end insecurity

Rmtimesng—The prevailing security situation in Nigeria require everybody’s contributions to see to an end, Chairman Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir has noted.
Gobir stressed that all hands should be on deck towards tackling kidnappings, banditry, cattle rustling, insurgency and other crimes in the society, describing insecurity as a threat to development.
According a statement by his media aide Bello Mohammed Anka, the Senator stated this at his Sokoto Senatorial Zone Office.
He urged security agencies to redouble efforts in tackling insecurity in the country while calling on stakeholders such as the politicians, youth; traditional/ religious leaders and general public to be involved in redressing the situation.
The Senator acknowledged that President Muhammadu Buhari was deeply concerned over the security challenges facing the country.
He advised youths to shun all forms of violence and pursue meaningful ventures for their betterment.
