Tambuwal makes case for strong institutions
RmtimesNg—Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has noted strong institutions as building blocks of viable development.
“That is why some of us believe in strong institutions,” he asserted.
Tambuwal stated this when a delegation of the Sokoto state chapter of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Sokoto.
The governor added with strong institutions, virile and scientific societies could be built and sustained.
He lauded the foresight of the founders of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Tambuwal welcomed the offer of the AANI to collaborate with the state government on the making of policy in all tiers of government in the state.
“Governance and anything that has to do with the running of the affairs of mankind must be knowledge-driven and knowledge-based,” he stated.
Chairman AANI Sokoto chapter, Abubakar Sokoto Mohammed, Mni, disclosed that the association decided to prioritize its contributions to policy formulation and implementation in the development of Sokoto State in the areas of security, education and healthcare, given the contemporary pressing challenges in Nigeria and Sokoto state.
He assured that AANI would put the various intellectual, technocratic and multi-disciplinary expertise of members at the disposal of the Sokoto state government.
